Designed using the D.E.N. Skincare range by our very own Dr Mica, this professional facial has been developed specifically for skin that is compromised, sensitised or in recovery. Rather than focusing on aggressive exfoliation, heat or intensity, the D.E.N. Recovery Facial is built around one simple principle: where skin recovers.
What is the D.E.N. Recovery Facial?
The D.E.N. Recovery Facial is a 60-80 minute professional treatment using seven products from the D.E.N. Skincare line; layered slowly across five carefully designed phases. Its goal is to calm, hydrate, support the skin barrier and help improve long-term skin resilience. This facial is ideal for skin that feels overworked, reactive, dehydrated or in need of a reset.
Think of it as the opposite of a traditional resurfacing facial.
Many facials are designed around acids, tingling, peeling or a quick glow. The D.E.N. Recovery Facial takes a different approach. It’s cool, calming, low-pressure and restorative – designed to work with your skin, not against it.
Who is it suitable for?
This facial may be especially suitable for you if your skin feels:
- Sensitive or easily irritated
- Red, flushed or reactive
- Dry, tight or uncomfortable
- Compromised from overusing active skincare
- In need of support after injectables, laser or microneedling
- Affected by seasonal changes, cold weather or post-sun dehydration

It’s also a beautiful option before an event if you’d like your skin to look calm, hydrated and comfortable, rather than freshly resurfaced.
Quick note: For first-time patients or those with very reactive skin, we may recommend a patch test before treatment. If you have recently had injectables, laser, peels or another aesthetic procedure, we usually advise waiting at least 48 hours before booking your Recovery Facial.
What happens during the D.E.N. Recovery Facial?
The treatment is designed to feel cocooning, slow and restorative.
Across five phases, your skin is gently cleansed, hydrated and supported with the D.E.N. Skincare range. The protocol includes gentle cleansing, a mineral-rich hydration mist, enzymatic renewal instead of acids, a low-pressure lymphatic massage using Essential Calm Serum, a nourishing mask and a final barrier-sealing gel.
There is no aggressive “working” of the skin. No harsh stripping. No unnecessary heat. Instead, the experience is designed to leave your skin feeling comforted and replenished.
What results can I expect?
Immediately after treatment, many patients notice that their skin feels calmer, softer and more hydrated. Redness may appear reduced, the skin can feel more comfortable and makeup often sits more smoothly in the following 24-48 hours.
With a course of treatments, the aim is to support your skin barrier over time; helping your skin become less reactive and more resilient. For best results, we recommend a course of four treatments, enjoyed weekly, followed by monthly maintenance.
How is it different from a HydraFacial?
HydraFacial and the D.E.N. Recovery Facial have different goals. We love them both, here at Cosmetica. And in fact, for some patients, the two may be complementary at different points in your skin journey!
HydraFacial is more resurfacing-led, designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and refresh the skin. Whereas the D.E.N. Recovery Facial is restoration-led. It focuses on calming, hydration, barrier support and recovery.
For those with very sensitive or compromised skin, the Recovery Facial may be the gentler and more appropriate starting point – but both treatments are suitable for most patients.
The homecare element
One of the most important parts of the D.E.N. Recovery Facial is what happens after you leave the clinic.
Because the facial uses products from the D.E.N. Skincare collection, we can recommend a simple home ritual to continue supporting your skin between appointments. This may include the Sensitive Skin Oil-To-Milk Cleanser, Microbiome Prebiotics Face Mist, Bioactive Prebiotics Jelly Serum and / or the Sensitive Skin Overnight Cream.
The aim is not to overwhelm your skin with more steps. It is to simplify, calm and rebuild consistency.
