Radiofrequency Microneedling (Secret PRO) -FAQs

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling combines fine needles with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin. At Cosmetica London, we use the Secret PRO system for precise, controlled dermal remodelling.

Tiny needles create micro‑channels while radiofrequency energy gently heats the dermis. This controlled thermal effect contracts existing collagen and stimulates new collagen formation, improving firmness, texture and scarring with minimal surface disruption.

RF Microneedling is often selected for:

• Skin laxity and reduced firmness
• Acne scarring
• Enlarged pores
• Uneven or rough texture
• Early signs of ageing. It is ideal when deeper structural support is needed.

A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment. Most patients find the procedure comfortable.

Downtime is typically 1–3 days. Mild redness or swelling may occur, but usually settles quickly. Because the epidermis remains largely intact, peeling is minimal or absent.

Some tightening may be felt immediately due to collagen contraction. Full results develop gradually over several weeks as new collagen forms.

A course of 3 – 4 treatments, spaced 4 – 6 weeks apart, is commonly recommended. Your practitioner will tailor a plan based on your skin and goals.

RF microneedling may not be appropriate for:

• Active inflammatory skin conditions
• Certain implanted medical devices
• Severe laxity requiring surgical intervention. Your clinician will assess suitability during consultation.
