Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers, used with skill and restraint, remain one of the most powerful tools in facial aesthetics. At Cosmetica, we use Juvéderm and Teoxane – two of the most clinically trusted filler ranges – to restore structure, support facial harmony and enhance features in a way that looks natural, balanced and entirely your own.

Fillers done well

Dermal fillers have had a complicated reputation in recent years, largely because of overuse and poor technique. But in the right hands, hyaluronic acid filler is a remarkably precise and effective tool – capable of restoring lost volume, improving structural balance and enhancing specific features subtly and reversibly.

Dr Mica Engel has trained in MD Codes – a system of facial assessment and injection technique developed by Dr Mauricio de Maio, one of the world’s leading experts in facial harmonisation. This approach considers the face as a whole: understanding how structure, proportions and support interact, and treating accordingly. The result is filler work that enhances rather than alters – fillers that look like you, not like filler.

Treatment overview

What can dermal fillers address?

  • Lips – volume, definition and proportion
  • Cheeks – restoration of volume and contouring
  • Jawline – definition and structural support
  • Chin – projection and facial balance
  • Nasolabial folds (nose-to-mouth lines)
  • Marionette lines
  • Temples – volume restoration in the upper face
  • Tear troughs – reducing hollowing around the eye area [consultation required; not all patients suitable]
  • Non-surgical rhinoplasty [consultation required]

How do dermal fillers work?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found throughout the body, playing a central role in maintaining skin hydration, elasticity and structural integrity. As we age, natural HA depletes – contributing to hollowing, loss of contour and a less supported appearance. Injectable HA fillers introduce a stabilised, gel-like form of HA into specific areas, adding volume, improving support, smoothing surface lines or enhancing the shape of features. The effects are reversible if needed.

Our approach to filler

At Cosmetica, we take a conservative approach. We are interested in what makes each patient’s face work well – in harmony, balance and proportion – not in filling every line or adding maximum volume. We will always tell you if we think a different treatment would serve you better, and we will never encourage you to have more than we genuinely believe is appropriate.
