Please note
Endolift is no longer available at Cosmetica London. This article is kept as an informational resource for anyone researching the technology. If you are looking for a skin tightening or laxity treatment, we offer a range of alternatives at our Balham clinic – you can find our current options at the end of this article.
Endolift is a non-surgical laser technology designed to improve skin laxity. It is minimally invasive compared to surgical alternatives and works by targeting the deeper layers of the skin rather than the surface – making it distinct from most conventional laser treatments.
How does Endolift technology work?
Endolift uses a micro-optical fibre that is inserted under the skin, directly into the deeper layers of the target area. Once in place, the fibre transmits laser energy that works in three ways: breaking down fatty deposits beneath the skin, tightening the surrounding tissue, and stimulating collagen production.
The result is improved skin firmness and reduced laxity – both visible in the short term and continuing to improve over the weeks and months following treatment as collagen production increases.
A session typically lasts around 45 minutes to one hour. The practitioner moves the fibre throughout the target area to ensure even coverage. A local anaesthetic is applied beforehand to numb the area, and air cooling is provided during treatment to manage any discomfort from the heat of the laser.
How is Endolift different from other laser treatments?
Most laser treatments work on the superficial, outer layers of the skin. Endolift goes deeper – targeting the structural layers beneath the surface to stimulate collagen from within, while also addressing fat deposits in the treatment area.
In other respects it shares similarities with surface laser treatments. Patients may notice some mild redness and swelling immediately after treatment, but these effects settle quickly and there is no downtime required.
Where on the body can Endolift be used?
The most common treatment area is the lower face – particularly the jawline, chin, jowls and neck – where Endolift has been used for facial contouring and skin tightening. It can also be applied to body areas including the abdomen, knees, thighs and inner arms.
Who is suitable for Endolift?
Endolift works best on mild to moderate skin laxity. It is not recommended for people with superficial wounds in the treatment area, those with thrombosis or thrombophlebitis, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, transplant patients, anyone with skin cancers or malignancies, or those who are pregnant.
How many sessions are needed?
Endolift is typically a single-session treatment, with results lasting up to five years in suitable candidates.
