What is Endolift Technology?

17th Mar 2023

Endolift is an innovative non-surgical laser technology that works to improve skin laxity. It is minimally invasive, compared to surgical treatment options, and can help to remodel the face. We explore this exciting treatment in more detail below!

How does Endolift technology work?

The Endolift laser uses a special micro-optical fibre that is easily inserted under the skin, directly into the deeper layers of skin in the target area.

As the fibre is inserted into the deeper layers of the skin, it transmits laser energy which breaks down fatty deposits under the skin, tightens the tissue and promotes the production of collagen. This has significant visible results on skin firmness and improves laxity – both in the short term and the long term.

The treatment typically lasts around 45 minutes to one hour, and your aesthetic practitioner will move the fibre throughout the target area to ensure all of the skin is covered. They will first apply a local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area – you may experience some mild discomfort from the heat of the laser, but air cooling is provided to help with this.

After treatment, you will notice immediate results with a tightened and firm appearance to the skin. These results will then continue to improve over the coming weeks and months with continued boosted production of collagen and dissolving of fat.

How is Endolift different to other laser treatments?

Most existing laser treatments target the superficial, outside layers of the skin. While these treatments can still be very effective, the Endolift treatment goes one step further by targeting the deeper layers of the skin and stimulating collagen from within those layers, while also breaking down fat.

In other ways, it is similar to other laser treatments you may have had before! You might experience a mild crackling sensation as the laser works and you may experience some redness and swelling at first after your treatment, but these effects will reduce quickly and there is no downtime needed.

Where on the body can it be used?

Many clients choose to have Endolift on the lower section of the face, including the jawline, chin and neck, to improve any appearance of sagging here. It works particularly well when used for facial contouring and skin tightening, particularly tackling any issues around the jowls. It can also be used on other parts of the body, such as the abdomen, knees, thighs and inner arms.

You will be able to first have a consultation with your aesthetician, who will be able to advise you on where they can use Endolift and where it will have the best results!

Who can safely have an Endolift treatment?

Most people can have the Endolift treatment safely, although it works best on mild to moderate skin laxity.

It is not advised if you have superficial wounds in the target area. It’s also not recommended if you suffer from thrombosis or thrombophlebitis, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, are a transplant patient, have any skin cancers or malignancies, or are pregnant.

How many Endolift treatments are needed?

Unlike some other laser treatments where multiple sessions are required, you can see significant results with just one treatment of Endolift and this can last for up to five years!

We are thrilled to be able to offer the Endolift treatment at the Cosmetica clinic. If you are interested in this treatment or would like more information, you can contact our team.
